Peyton: "I want to draw something that means something to someone. You know, I want to draw blind faith or a fading summer or... just a moment of clarity. It's like when you go and you see a really great band live for the first time, you know, and nobody's saying it but everybody's thinking it-- "We have something to believe in again." I want to draw that feeling. But, I can't. And if I can't be great at it then I don't want to ruin it. It's too important to me."
Lucas: (looking at Peyton's drawing) Kinda dark, isn't it?
Peyton: I love you, Luke, but I've chosen darkness
Peyton: “At this moment there are 6,470,818,671 people in the world. Some are running scared. Some are coming home. Some tell lies to make it through the day. Others are just now facing the truth. Some are evil men at war with good, and some are good struggling with evil. Six billion people in the world. Six billion souls. And sometimes all you need is one.”
Lucas: I don't get you. You want to express yourself through your art but you don't want anyone to know it's you...
Peyton: I guess I'm just a girl wrapped in a mystery inside a bitch...
Lucas: Or just a tormented artist...
Brooke: Guess who's in the lobby, I'll tell you. Claire Young and her little ho posse. We are going down there.
Peyton: Okay. And if an angry dance-off breaks out, I got your back.
Brooke: Great. Just don't stick another knife in it.
Ellie: Don't be afraid Peyton. Every song has a coda, a final movement, whether it fades out or crashes away. Every song ends, is that any reason not to enjoy the music?
Peyton: It doesn't mean I can't want it to not end.
Ellie: Look at you. You've had more life changing events in the first 17 years of your life than I'd wish on anyone. You got the surviving part down. I want you to focus more on the living.
Peyton: Sometimes surviving is about all the living I can handle.
Ellie: I don't buy that for one second. And if you keep this up hiding in your art and your sadness, you're really gonna miss out. Because the truth is, there is nothing to be afraid of. It's just life.
Peyton: You're always saving me.
Lucas: Somebody's got to.
Peyton: Hey, you, what have you been up too?
Brooke: (jokingly) Flirting with Lucas.
Peyton: Oh, yeah? How'd that turn out?
Brooke: Eh, so so. You know love triangles are so high school.
Peyton: Seriously.
Brooke: We made it, didn't we? Through all the tragedy and jealousy and confusion. We made it.
Peyton: Yeah, hoes over bros, right?
Brooke: I love you, P. Sawyer.
Peyton: I love you too, B. Davis
Brooke: You saved me.
Peyton: You saved me too.
